Some 600 people from 37 countries joined us for 2 days of sharing insights and ideas, discussion of innovations, networking and meetings in Berlin. More than 70 speakers from companies such as of AJ+, Amazon, AwesomenessTV, BBC Worldwide, Bloomberg, CNN, eMarketer, Emblematic Group, Harvard Business School, Hearken, Lakestar Ventures, Mozilla Foundation (The Coral Project), NBC News Digital, NowThis, Quartz, Reuters Institute at Oxford University, Vivendi, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Wolters Kluwer, presented at DIS 2017, our 10th Summit. emediaSF is working with FIPP and VDZ on the 10th Digital Innovators' Summit (DIS) which will take place March 20-21, 2017 in Berlin, Germany. The DIS brings together senior executives from media businesses, technology innovators and solution providers to share ideas, discuss emerging trends and showcase future products. emediaSF will focus on selecting and securing digital media innovators and thought leaders from the U.S. to speak at the DIS.
emediaSF has signed on with FIPP (Worldwide Magazine Media Association) and VDZ (Association of German Magazine Publishers) to organize the next Digital Innovators Tour which will visit New York and Washington D.C. from May 7-12, 2017. These two cities offer an interesting mix of innovative traditional publishers and New Media players as well as tech companies and other organizations that will impact the future of publishing. This will enable us to put together a particularly vibrant and thought-provoking program that is sure to stimulate insightful discussions with the leaders of the organizations we meet with, give tour participants new ideas and input for their own businesses, and add to the invigorating discussions among our group of international media executives.
The VDZ US Tour 2015 to Washington D.C. and San Francisco / Silicon Valley - the last one led and organized by emediaSF - concluded recently. From September 27 to October 2, 2015, a group of 15 executives, managers and journalists from German media companies met with 15 innovative U.S. organizations. We had outstanding meetings with inspiring people including Steve Hills and his team at the Washington Post, John Harris and his team at Politico, Keith Jenkins and his colleagues at National Geographic Digital, Adam Sharp at Twitter and Justin Ferrell at the Stanford d.school. Wow! That was our best conference yet, setting a new attendance record with over 550 delegates taking part. Close to 60 speakers shared insights and provided inspiration to our audience of media executives and managers. In addition, we witnessed the creation of creative mobile apps during the connected car hackathon, gave people a an opportunity to try some of the latest wearable devices and provided an experience of the near future with Google House.
